· The United States Constitution begins with its Preamble. Please explain what this Preamble contains and elaborate on (explain) at least one part of it.
· The United States Government operates under a system of Federalism. What is Federalism and how does it benefit our country? This system is supported by a ‘Separation of Powers’ and ‘Checks and Balances’. Please identify the 3 branches the government is separated into. Also, describe what role each branch plays in our government and what powers they have to check each other.
· Prior to the ratification of the United States Constitution in 1788, our nation was governed by its 1st constitution. What was the name of this 1st constitution and what did critics say was its biggest problem? How has our current Constitution survived for more than 200 years? What is the process to amend the Constitution?
· How does a bill become a law?
